About me
Bobbie Gallagher MA PGCE MSTAT
I had my first Alexander lesson in 1994. I was working as a journalist and was diagnosed with diffuse RSI. The Alexander Technique was the only thing that had a lasting impact on my condition and I decided to train initially to help myself rather than as a career move. For me the most important thing about the Alexander Technique remains the fact that it is a wonderful means of self-help enabling us to make the best of what we have and who we are!
I trained at the Alexander Re-education Centre in Berkshire and did a post-graduate course at the Constructive Teaching Centre in Holland Park, London where I currently work. Although I am now helping to train others, personal study and development remain very important to me: that is after all what the Technique is about.
As well as teaching on the training course and the Easter and Summer refresher courses for qualified teachers, I was also part of the CTC team running workshops for teachers at the 2008 International Congress in Lugano and will be part of the same team at the 2011 Congress.
My private practice is mainly at 36 Hyde Park Square, London W2, but I also teach privately at the Constructive Teaching Centre in Holland Park and at a beautiful location in Sidbury, Devon. I am a member of the professional body STAT.
*Teaching members of STAT are certified (MSTAT) to teach the Technique after successfully completing a three year, full time training course, approved by the Society or an affiliated society and are required to adhere to the Society’s published Code of Professional Conduct and to hold professional indemnity insurance.
